I wanted to thank you for sending Ulani to Buffalo with the help of the wonderful folks at Buffalo Humane last summer. Her new name is Juno -- named for the Goddess Juno (the patroness of long-term commitment). Since she came to us in June (the month named for Juno) and we were making a forever promise to love and care for her, it seemed like a good fit. She is doing so well and is a star everywhere she goes. So many people are fascinated by how well she does on only three legs and how beautiful she is (remember her funny little "goggles" and that gorgeous face?). She has now been certified as a Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog and travels with me to Buffalo Children's Hospital, the VA Hospital and several local nursing homes where she provides love, comfort and inspiration to everyone she meets. Thank you again for taking her in last April and going to the effort and expense to tend to her terrible injury. If you ever had a thought of euthanizing her, I wanted you to know how wise and wonderful you were when you decided there was a better life waiting for her and everyone who has had the pleasure to know her. I have a car magnet that says "My Rescue Dog Rescued Me" and it's so true. She is our angel.

We have pulled from Grayson Co for over 2 yrs. They are the best humane society we have worked with. Keep up the good work.

Message From: Trooder (you once called me Nowhere Man) May 12, 2010
I am so grateful for all the love I got while with you. My new home is PAWSOME and I am spoiled (that is what MY mom says). Without the volunteers and the people who first found me, I may have never found my dreams! Nose taps and purrs, Trooder

I have prayed they catch those involved in the Feb. break-in at your shelter. I have spread the word to all my friends via e-mail and Facebook. I hope you are able to financially recover and the scum that committed the crime are caught!

You guys are doing a wonderful thing. I hope to finish college so that I may be a part of the cure. My heart is broken when I hear of the horrible things people do to these animals that deserve nothing but love, and a proper home.

Message From: Anon February 28, 2010
There should be a way to earmark a donation for a particular cause within the shelter. I'd rather leave the donation for the care of the aggressive dog who killed the cats (used as a tool or no) to someone else. Hopefully it will find a home without other animals or young children and can be securely housed. I hope the vandals who broke in are caught and the shelter made more secure so no one can break in and aggressive animals cannot get turned loose.

We love our new family member. When we adopted Dusty he didn't seem to know his name. On the way home from the shelter we went through many names and Sydney seemed to fit. He learned his new name in one day. We love him very much and he loves us. He gets along great with Marvin and Merlin our cats. Sydney likes to go for walks and going for rides in the car. He enjoys sitting next to us on the swing in our fenced in back yard. Sydney is a very loving member of our family and we are very thankful to have him. I believe we started to fall in love with him when we saw the videos of him on the internet. Thank you all so much for introducing us to Sydney (Dusty).

When I came to the shelter to adopt a dog I wanted something tiny, that would not shed...but when I looked ito her eyes I knew we were meant to be together. I just wanted to drop you all a line and tell you that she is doing fine...and we love each other very much. Thanks for saving her, I cannot imagine my life without her.

It is beyond me why anyone could hurt any of these beautiful animals. God gave them to us to help us along the way, and to brighten our days. May God Bless each and every rescue worker, volunteer, sponsor and all of the adoptive families.

I adopted Remington a little over a year ago and just wanted to let you know he is doing great. What a WONDERFUL dog he is, he is terrific with my kids and all the other dogs in our extended family, who i may point out happen to all be males. We take him everywhere with us. He is a very Happy guy and we feel very fortunate to have found him. I just wanted to pop an email and say thanks for sending him to our spca, had you not done that our family would not be the same. I had the opportunity to talk to one of the volunteers last summer who actually took care of him, she loved him so much that she sent a friend in to our shelter to keep checking on him for her. If noone adopted him she was willing to come back for him. He is a very loving dog that we could not imagine being without. Thanks for everything. You do a wonderful thing here. I am so happy that I found pictures of him on your website. This is a very caring shelter. Thanks for the care you gave him when he was with you. I don't think we could have asked for a better dog.

Adopted little 12 week old Abbey (a Beagle mix) in January 2004. After 4.5 years, Abbey, known to us as Nelly, has been a great family member and friend. We wish we adopted her brothers at the time, since she turned out to be such a great dog! Thank you Grayson County Humane Society!

What a treat to find this website, because frankly I'd forgotten about it. Finding it was like finding buried treasure. Great job!

Every dog & cat we pull from here is exactly as they say, in terms of health & temperment. They really know their animals and I would HIGHLY recommend adopting from Grayson.

Message From: Erica February 18, 2008

Message From: Jodi Wendling January 7, 2008
I am so pleased to learn of your rescue. I understand your volunteers are a hard working bunch. Good luck and stay strong.

Message From: Kelsea Grimes September 15, 2007
The site is well laid out and informative. I wish the donation info page would be updated though, as I have a small stockpile of ink cartridges I would be willing to donate. I'm sorry to hear of the cat crisis. My boyfriend sent an email asking about how to donate. Keep up the good work and God bless!
