Wish List

 As of May 25th, 2010, the shelter is in need of the following items:

• Canned kitten and cat food (loaf/pate ones without chunks/bits - especially the pate ones right now; "smelly fish types" work best to entice finicky eaters - ones like 9 Lives Real Flakes of Tuna, actual canned tuna/salmon,  Friskies Salmon or Ocean Whitefish, and Fancy Feast gourmet canned food)
• 6" or smaller paper plates (for the cats' canned food)
• Baby food to entice sick kittens to eat (chicken or turkey Gerber's or Nature's Goodness brand without onion salt)
• Doghouses (any insulated plastic kind that can be cleaned and sanitized easily)
• "Rice bags" that can be heated up in the microwave - we can use them for the kittens and smaller puppies that come in 
• Wire crates (to replace some that the cats are living in - the 36" long x 24" wide x 27" high collapsible black metal ones seem to work best)
• Metal "poop rakes and scoops" (the scoop size should be ~6" wide x 6" deep because if they're any bigger, they don't fit in the bleach buckets)
• Large plastic storage bins (like Rubbermaid ones)
• Gift cards/certificates to Walmart, Feeders Supply, or Tractor Supply (these come in VERY handy to purchase cat litter, canned cat food, baby food for kittens, etc) - if you'd like to, you can designate what you want the gift card to be used for
• A couple of feral cat traps are needed so that we don't have to keep borrowing them from Animal Control
• Drontal, Safeguard, Ivomec, and Strongid (dewormers)
• "Smelly" canned dog food (to help entice finicky eaters)
• Kuranda beds (our dogs love these but we don't have enough for everyone and the ones we have are starting to fall apart; Kuranda also now has cat beds and "towers" available, which we think our cats would REALLY like - if you'd like to donate one for a dog or cat, please click here).
• Small and large covered litter boxes (ours are falling apart!)
• Laundry detergent (any brand)
• Non-ultra bleach
• Equine Fresh pine bedding (40 pound bags - used for cat litter)
• Puppy toys that are "bleachable" (please, NO cloth ones; tough latex chewy-type ones last the longest)
• Frontline and Revolution (used to treat for fleas, ticks, various worms, ear mites, and sarcoptic mange)
• Fish oil (liquid-filled) tablets
• Metal pails for the dogs' water
• Stainless steel bowls for food
• Carriers/Crates (used for the MANY transports that we drive - ours are now in a state of complete disrepair!)
