Hi, my name is Otis, a tabby and white boy kitty (short hair) about 10 years old. My story is kind of a sad one, I'm afraid, and many of us senior cats (and dogs) have similar tales. I developed glaucoma (a treatable condition when people care), but my owners left it too long and it looked like I might lose my eye. Being the humanitarians they were, they were going to have me PTS instead of finding a way to help a pet they had for ten years. Fortunately, the wonderful Grayson volunteers heard about my plight, and my owners agreed to release me to the shelter. The volunteers considered me worthy and took me to the vet clinic where I had my bad eye taken out. It hurt some and that e-collar was terrible, but I've now recovered and I'm ready for my new home (which I hope will be a real forever home this time). The volunteers think I'm very sweet and handsome, and I look kind of dashing with the one eye. (They also say I'm easy to medicate, but I'm not sure that's a great selling point with adopters). Anyway, I hope you send for me soon, because the shelter's in an awful bind with so many of us cats here, and we do have limited time. I've been neutered, of course, and I'm up-to-date on everything else. Isn't this "Adopt a Senior Week"? Well, I might have made that up, but I hope you have a warm spot on your bed for me. Love, Otis
