Hi, my name is Skookum, a very pretty calico (short coat) gal (though some call me a brown tabby, so take your pick). I came into the shelter in a trap (bless animal control) and lived in a big crate in the hallway for a while. The shelter was very crowded when I came in, and for a while I thought I might be joining the angels, but luckily for ole' Skookum, a lot of my fellow cats went into rescue so I was able to move out of the hallway and into the cat room. I was very scared and hid under my bed when the volunteer would clean out my cage and all the litter and newspaper and stuff. She could even pet my bum and I pretended not to notice. She thought this was funny but I was not amused. Well, I have to admit I'm starting to warm up to the volunteers and with the idea of living inside. I'm not all kissy-kissy yet, but I'm starting to get a lot friendlier, ya know. December 3rd was an important day for me, because it was the day I was spayed, so now I never have to worry about having babies. They also eartipped me in case I have to return to the feral colony, but you know, I don't think that will be Skookum's fate, because I just know in my heart there is a home out there for me somewhere. Perhaps it will be yours. Skookum means "very good", and that really describes me to a "t". It would be really skookum of you to take sweet Skookum home. How about it?
